Apache Trail High School is a tuition-FREE high school located at 510 N. Central Ave, Avondale, Arizona. EHS has been serving our community since 1999. Apache Trail High School is a proud member of Leona Group Schools and the American Charter Schools Foundation.
We cultivate compassionate, well rounded individuals ready for the real world. We offer diverse instructional methods, credit recovery options, and individualized graduation plans to ensure every student's success. We strive to inspire and empower our students to excel in all aspects of their lives, nurturing personal growth and success beyond the classroom. Together, we do this by fostering a community of shared goals and achievements.
We create an environment where students do more than attain a high school diploma. They also develop a strong sense of community, essential life skills, a deep understanding of personal values, and the emotional resilience to thrive in their futures. With this foundation, our graduates will confidently progress toward their chosen path, college or a vocational pursuit, making positive contributions to society.
The mission of Apache Trail High School is to help all students develop basic skills, understanding and attitudes necessary to become productive citizens. We accomplish this through an integrated approach using curriculum aligned to the Arizona State Standards and relevant instruction. The school serves young people for whom traditional schools have not been effective and predictably will not be in the future. As such, essentially all students meet one or more of Arizona's definitions for an alternative school. That is, they have behavioral issues, have dropped out or are likely to drop out, are pregnant or parenting, have a history of academic failure or have been adjudicated. It is the specific mission of the school to serve such students.
School Leader
Ms. Amanda Bachler has 20+ years in education and has been with Leona Group since 2006. Ms. Bachler spent 14 years at Peoria Accelerated High School, a sister school of Estrella. During this time, she served as a teacher, curriculum coach, and school leader. Most recently she was the Director of Marketing at the Leona Group support office, supporting all 28 Arizona Leona Group schools in student retention and recruitment efforts. Ms. Bachler is excited to be at Estrella, working with an incredible and dedicated team of educators to serve the students of Estrella and the greater West Valley community.
Ms. Bachler earned her Bachelor's degree in English/Secondary Education from Northern Arizona University and holds a Master of Fine Arts in Writing from Chatham University.
